WebFeb 1, 2016 · There are a few, and none of them are the side mirrors. The sound (a lot of it) comes from elsewhere and bounces around the inside of the door and you hear it from near the mirrors with the door panel on. If the door panel is off there is no noise coming from there. Source #1 is the door handles.

When they taped around the mirror they likely taped over this seam leading to an easy misdiagnosis. Silicone or clear tape could fix it but since I was still under my certified warranty, Toyota fixed it.
